Add items to your wardrobe (clothing type, color, material, warmth level)

Information Automatically Collected

When you use Heather, we may automatically collect:

Device information (device type, operating system)
Usage data (features used, time spent in app)
Location data (city-level, for weather forecasts - only when you grant permission)

Weather Data

We use the Open-Meteo API to fetch weather data based on your location. This includes temperature, humidity, wind speed, UV index, and weather conditions. We do not share your location with any third parties other than for fetching weather data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide personalized outfit suggestions based on weather and your preferences
Store and display your wardrobe items
Send morning outfit notifications (if enabled)
Improve and optimize our services
Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues

3. How We Share Your Information

We Do NOT

Sell your personal information to third parties
Share your wardrobe data with advertisers
Use your data for targeted advertising
Share your location history with anyone

Service Providers

Firebase (authentication and data storage)
Open-Meteo (weather data)

These providers only receive the minimum data necessary.

4. Your Privacy Controls

Heather gives you control over your information:

Location: You can use Heather without granting location access by manually searching for your city
Notifications: Enable or disable morning outfit notifications at any time
Wardrobe: Add, edit, or delete wardrobe items at any time
Account Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings
Guest Mode: Use Heather without creating an account (data stored locally on your device only)

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including:

Encryption of data in transit and at rest
Secure authentication through Firebase
Zero-trust Firestore security rules
Access controls limiting who can access your data

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days.

Guest mode data is stored locally on your device and is not retained by us.

7. Children's Privacy

Heather is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.
